Students from all around the world are invited to send online applications for fully funded scholarships at the University of Science and Technology of China. The host will manage the living and academic expenses of students across multiple disciplines, including those pursuing undergraduate and graduate studies.

The University of Science and Technology of China is a renowned public research university known for offering advanced science and high-tech programs. It was founded in 1958 and has achieved notable research accomplishments in multiple fields.

USTC will fully fund the BS scholars for 4-5 years, MS scholars for 2-3 years, and PhD scholars for 3-5 years. You can apply in two rounds. The deadline for USTC scholarships varies by available degree program. The deadlines are 31 January 2026 for the BS degree and 31 March 2026 for the MS and PhD degrees.

Benefits of Scholarship

The fully funded scholarships at the University of Science and Technology of China for the 2026-27 academic year offer the following benefits.

  • Scholars will get a full tuition fee waiver.
  • Scholars will get travel insurance.
  • Scholars will receive free accommodation during their stay in China.
  • Scholars will get a monthly stipend of 2,500 RMB for BS students, 3,000 RMB for MS students, and 3,500 RMB for PhD students.

Eligibility Criteria

Students applying for fully funded scholarships at the University of Science and Technology of China for the 2026-27 academic year must meet the requirements below.

  • Only non-Chinese citizens are eligible to apply.
  • To be eligible for admission to a Bachelor’s program, you must hold an intermediate degree; for a Master’s program, a BS degree is required; and for a PhD program, an MS degree is required.
  • The age of MS applicants must be less than 35, and PhD applicants must be less than 40.
  • You must have a clean criminal record and be in good health.
  • You must possess proficiency in either English or Chinese.
